Here is a short video showing some basic techniques that can be used to trap a fox. This fox had been visiting our chicken coop and snatching some baby chicks. We started out with 15 baby chicks and within a few days got down to 5. The chicken coop was secure for the adult birds but the baby chicks could come and go through the wire.
We put the remaining chicks in a secure pen and then set our trap. I used a Duke 1.5 Coil Spring Double Jaw foot trap, chicken eggs and shellfish oil lure. Actually within 5 minutes of getting the trap set we caught a crow (that is one reason you normally dont use eggs). After releasing the crow we remade the set. Didnt catch anything the 1st night so we put some Shellfish Oil on the eggs and the next day we had a fox.
We hope this video give you some basic tips on how to trap a fox and the tools needed to do so. If you have any questions about this video please give us a call and we will be happy to help you out. 1-800-624-4493
